SAKE DIPLOMA is a certification specializing in sake and shochu, established in 2017 by the Japan Sommelier Association (J.S.A.). Against the backdrop of growing global demand for sake, it was created with the aim of promoting and developing Japanese food culture.

The exam tests a wide range of knowledge, including history, cultural background, ingredients, brewing methods, regional profiles, and food pairings. It is divided into two stages: a first-round written test (CBT format) and a second-round tasting and essay exam. A key feature is the requirement for authentic tasting techniques, a hallmark of the Japan Sommelier Association. Anyone aged 20 or older can take the exam regardless of work experience, attracting broad attention from food and beverage professionals to passionate enthusiasts.

Since 2018, NANAME KIKAKU has been developing and selling exam preparation materials for SAKE DIPLOMA candidates. Based on AI-driven analysis and the results of our proprietary surveys conducted among past candidates, we provide original study materials that allow learners to efficiently acquire the knowledge required for the exam. As of 2025, we have produced a cumulative total of over 600 successful candidates, who are now actively working at restaurants, hotels, and various other establishments nationwide.
